I really like the Zak Design dishes. They add such a nice color to my kitchen table when eating meals. It appears to make it a more enjoyable dining atmosphere compared to my usual white setting and brightens up the faces of the people using them. The bowls are so much better than other ones because they are deeper so it is harder for young children to spill things when they use them. I am waiting for them to come out with the mugs or cups to complete my set. I really love the way they come out of the dishwasher without any spots and retain the just like new look. Not only that but they make a great conversation piece at the table. You can dress up or down this set of dishes by using various accessories on your table to fit any mood you would like to create. They are wonderful and I believe anyone that is looking for a great set of dishes that hold up well, have a better type of bowl for cereal or soup and add atmosphere and/or conversation to a dining experience will love these dishes. Of course, red just happens to be my favorite color too! They also come in other colors so I am sure finding a color to your liking will be easy.

I ordered the set and waited for them to arrive as promised. Eventually a week became about a month. They never arrived. I wrote to Amazon and they were very good to take care of the matter and about a week later I got the set. I enjoy the set, just wish that Zak's black logo wasn't all over the white plate set. They are very durable. I took a star away because you can't use them in the microwave.

I purchased this set for my mother who falls and drops things regularly due to a disability. I wanted a dish set for her that would be difficult to break. So far, these have held up well. In fact, they're deceptively durable, and they look nice.
However, to complain (and I like to complain), I would say this dishware is too costly. I've recently seen ads for similar dishware more reasonably priced. These are also too light for my mother's taste. They slide around on her table very easily (though it's nothing a place-mat can't fix). Oh yeah, and they took a long time to be delivered.

Before you order, you need to know these are plastic plates. They are NOT stoneware or quality plates. I did not see any references in the description of the plates that they were anything other than a natural plate. I now have to send back everything that I received, and the prices of these plates are priced the same as quality stoneware plates, such as Fiesta - which is what I intend on replacing them with, except I will go to a department store and purchase them - I wasn't expecting anything but quality platewear. Very disappointed in the lack of description on these plates.
All I can say is if you're expecting a quality stoneware type of plate, this is not the one!
