Works Simply and Well Apr 09, 2011

I saw this simple little gadget on Martha Stewart. I knew I needed it. I absolutely hate peeling garlic. Sometimes, it takes me longer to peel the garlic than to prepare the other vegetables. What a pain! My husband taught me how to smash the garlic clove with the side of my knife. That breaks the skin and you can peel it easier, but it can still be persnickity at times. I've been buying jarred garlic for years to avoid the annoyance.
So when I saw this I thought - ooh this looks like something that would work for me. And it does! The first time I used it I went "Aha!" It works simply and it works well. You put the clove inside and simply press as you roll the clove inside the tube. You'll hear a crack and that's it! Pull out the clove, and it will separate into skin and clove. No more peeling. I was having so much fun rolling the garlic cloves and peeling them that I did way more than I needed, and had to bag the extra cloves. Whee!
This peeler is one of the most helpful kitchen gadgets I've ever bought for myself.

LOVE the item, hate the color they sent Dec 15, 2011

I already have one of these things that I bought in the grocery store for $10, but it's a boring white, and I like colorful tools (easier to find!) I LOVE this for peeling garlic - it's fast and easy, peels perfectly, and so easy to give a fast rinse and re-use.
Beware that if your order the "green" you may receive a color that's more of a teal or dark forest green - NOT the lovely lime green shown in the picture. Fortunately I have Amazon Prime, and there was no problem returning this item (they even paid the return shipping!) and re-ordering it in another color. I've ordered red, and hope that it's a better color match than the green!

Time saver.... Dec 27, 2010
By Nicki Really like this garlic peeler. It definitely saves time when peeling garlic. It was such a tedious job before trying to get all of the thin pieces of peel off of the garlic by hand. I sometimes even bought chopped garlic in the jar just to avoid this task, but nothing like fresh garlic in your recipes. Depending on the size of the garlic cloves, you can fit 2 or 3 cloves in the peeler at one time and peel. I do still cut the tip off of the garlic which probably isn't necessary. You literally give it 2 or 3 rolls on the counter top and the entire peels are removed! Love it. One note about the green color, the one I received was more of a kelly green and not the bright green shown in the picture.

Garlic Peeling made EASY! May 17, 2010
By Cynthia Perry

I'm giving this a 4-star because it seems to do best with only one or two pieces of garlic at a time and as I use a lot of garlic, it would be nice if I could do a few more cloves at once. The tube is just too short for that. Technically, it is just one extra kitchen gadget for the drawer, and one I could live without, but I prefer to live with. I like it quite a bit, and it does do the job and does it well. Yes, I can smash cloves with a knife and pick the peel off, but this is easier and as I'm not able to apply a lot of pressure to a knife blade, the peel seems to come off better for me. A quick rinse under the faucet and it is clean. The green color looks nice in my kitchen.
Easy Apr 18, 2012
By CBSkier Why didn't I get this years ago? Easy to operate and works great. Rinses clean in about 2 seconds or fits in my silverware rack in my dishwasher. Can fit small shallots too, but now I want a bigger one to do all shallots.
