Expensive Hydrogen Peroxide May 25, 2009
By Margaret Picky The active ingredient in this product is hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).
Pro: Better for the environment than chlorine bleach (NaOCl).
Cons: Does not work as well as chlorine bleach. More expensive than medicinal bottles of hydrogen peroxide. Doesn't really remove stains well or keep whites from yellowing.

Work fine, Good enough for me and my family Mar 21, 2010

Chlorine is a toxic gas, and a carcinogen (a cancer-causing agent). Before I discovered the 7th Generation "Free & Clear" bleach, I RAREly use any Chlorine bleaches (just baking soda or vinegar, the old fashioned way). It takes forever to get rid of the chlorine smell off the bleached clothing.
The 7th non-chloride "free & clear" bleach does not have any harmful smells (no smell, period) nor any artificial scents, and can remove most of the stains (with some pretreatment and rubbing, if necessary) and the best of all, does not damage any fabric colors. I even use it on my favorite "no bleach" or "Non-Chlorine Bleach" clothes and beddings, when necessary. It gets job done.
The only thing is its price. It is only available at Wholefoods and some of our local healthy food stores, about $4.xx. Wish Target carry it as it does with some other 7th Generation products.
Non Chlorine Bleach Dec 22, 2011
By marzy-dotes I wish to say I have been a user of non-cholrine bleach for a long time. I can use it and not ruin my clothes or irritate my nose. I kill all the germs that are around so I can use it to clean surfaces that need to be sanitary. I now have a really hard time finding a large container of non-cholorine bleach and Clorox seems to have decided it only gets used for laundry and now condense it and sell it in small bottles. This does not suit my purposes. Perhaps I will have to start using hydrogen peroxide instead of the commercial items but I am so very disappointed that commercialism has destroyed the usefulness on this product. I am glad Seventh Generation makes it now but the bottle is too small and I can not find it in my most of my local stores. I hope they make a larger bottle and make it more available.
