5best mister on the market  Sep 04, 2009 By Fred French "foodie"
this is the best mister on the market because it has a glass base. I had the Misto for a little over a year but the oil was starting to wear on the plastic parts and discolor, so i bought a prepara mister. It rocks. You can also sterilize it with boiling water- which you can not do with the Misto. It also looks great on the kitchen counter.

5Just what I was looking for  Dec 21, 2009 By S. Lapolla
I was a little concerned by reading the other reviews. I found you NEED to release the trapped air after you are done spraying. Also, keeping the bottle vertical helps the length of spray time. I have had no issues with clogging and use almost daily.

4Works great most of the time...  Dec 13, 2009 By K. Duvall
I bought this to use instead of spray cans. When one must avoid soy you have to mist your own oil. I have only used this with olive oil. For the most part it works great. For a few days it was cranky. It sprayed a stream instead of a mist. I think I may have not twisted the top on tight enough to get a good seal. I have found I need to use what seems to be more spray than my canned stuff. But it works marvelously. I do untwist the lid after each use.
I would recommend this to others. Keeps you away from soy and allows for fresher oil.

5No more Pam spray for me. This mister rocks.  Mar 08, 2010 By Enlighten Me
The Prepara Oil Mister works better than I anticipated. You fill the bottom glass container with oil (or what ever you need misted), replace the top (it's plastic), pump with the outside top cover made of a break resistant plastic, and spray. The spray creates a mist of oil that easily coats an entire pan, skillet, plate of veggies, or chicken pieces ready for the grill.

This is such a nifty device, even my husband loves it. Because it creates a fine mist, the coating on veggies and meats is light and doesn't waste oil. If you want the oil to stream a little rather that mist, don't pump it up as much.

Now I can abandon those cans of aerosol spray oil that leave ugly spots on my nice pans. I'm so glad I found this cute little mister.

The only room for improvement I found was: I wish the oil vessel was larger as to hold more oil, and I wish the top white plastic part was made from stainless steel.

4As Compared To The Misto...  Jul 09, 2010 By Donna B. "Burger"
I've only owed one other brand of oil mister aside from this one. So, this review is a comparison to the Martha Stewart Misto.

1) Spraying- The Prepara Oil Mister sprays out the oil coating a much wider coverage area. So you don't have to pump nearly as much to coat a pan. The best way to coat is to just hold the pan vertically up and spray with the mister. It just doesn't work the same when you angle the Prepara mister and try to spray a pan on the stove. This does not matter with the Martha Stewart Misto because it drips no matter what.

2) Design- The Prepara Oil Mister is much more attractive. Since the Prepara mister is see-through its easy to see when your out of oil. With my old Misto I had to open it up and check if I was out of oil.

3) Versatility- I liked the look of the Prepara Oil Mister so much I bought another one for table-top salad dressing.

Although I can only compare this to the Misto I think I did a great job at replacing it. It's more expensive but it is BPa-free.
