Economical and Ecologically Friendly! Love it. Nov 17, 2007

"Are we there yet?"
I love my Keurig coffee maker but the cost per K-cup is pretty high and the used K-cups are not recyclable. Ok, no big deal, I thought. It was just me drinking 1-2 cups per day. Then the rest of my family found out how great the individual servings taste, gave up their many weekly trips to Starbucks, and I found myself financing this incredible coffee industry while the trash filled up with little plastic cups.
HATS OFF to the genius who figured out how to put a coffee pod into a K-cup coffee maker! I was a little skeptical, but the Pod Holster WORKS. Now the coffee costs about half as much as before, it is still incredibly tasty and convenient, and everything that goes in the trash is biodegradable. Need I say more?
The only con is that you have to retrain your family/employees not to toss the pod holster in the trash. Other than that, thumbs up all the way.

Great after some instruction Jan 28, 2008
By pfear My original review has been removed from this site, so I thought I'd try again. My original review rated this product as a 2 due to the fact that grounds from the senseo pod got into my coffee cup when using this product in my Keurig B60. After posting my review I received a call from a representative of the manufacturer to offer advice and instruction on how to use the product to get a better result; so I thought I'd share that information. I was told to ball up the senseo pod so that it was tight and to push the pod firmly up to the lid of the pod holster (push up from the bottom while holding the lid on). It should fit tightly at the top of the holster to prevent grounds from leaking out into the cup. Place the holster in the machine and QUICKLY close the lid, then brew. Another suggestion was to use larger pods. I haven't tried a larger pod yet, but the new techinique seems to be helping with my senseo pods. The coffee cup is not 100% grounds free, but pretty close, and is good enough to drink. Produces a good cup of coffee. Great concept if you can get the technique down. Maybe a more detailed instruction manual included with the packaging would be helpful. I was encouraged to call for any other problems or if I had any other questions. The number is on the packing which I threw away, but I believe can be found through Amazon if needed. I rated this product as a 4 due to the fact that thorough instruction was not provided on or in the packaging, however I did appreciate the follow up phone call...nice service! The packaging does say a pod 55mm or greater is suggested, however, I've been unable to find pod size information on most pod packaging. I'll inspect pod size more closely in the future.

Did not work as expected but.... Feb 05, 2009
By junior 5 Bought the holster to save money of course on the K cups. I bought the Douwe egberts pods on sale and used them on the holster as directed. I brewed as directed numerous times but the taste of the coffee that came out had a consistently diluted taste. Looking at the design I thought that the base being left open to accommodate the spring mechanism led to decreased hot water pressure inside the pod which was the strength of the K cups. In the K cups the hot water gets forced into the coffee granules under pressure thus leading to a full taste. So to get around this problem I recycled the K cups by washing out the used coffee and after letting the filter dry I cut open a pod and poured the contents inside the recycled K cup (which of course has the cover foil removed). I just used the cover of the holster to act as a cap on the K cup and placed it in the machine. The difference in the taste was like night and day. Try this method yourself to see the difference. The pod holster concept was great, but I think you could use it another way to get a better tasting cup of coffee.

Worth every penny Feb 29, 2008
By David J. Langrock The pod holder is easy to use and lets me use far cheaper pods (I uses Senseo) than the ones designed specifically for Keurig coffee makers. Be sure you follow the instructions to tamp the pod with your finger so that it presses against the top of the holder.
