Decent, accurate, but could be better Oct 23, 2007
By A. Smith
"ashman78"
Positives: Decent looking, seemingly accurate and consistent. Basically, it performs its core task well. What kept it from a 5-star rating? A couple of things, which I will point out simply because this is a $30 scale and others might like to know:
1. We intended for this to be a countertop scale (not wall-mounted). However, we soon discovered a design flaw: When folded up, the bottom of the scale no longer sits flat due to the protrustion of the hinge. This could have been easily overcome had the designers envisioned that people might NOT actually want to mount it on the wall. This sort of defeats the "space saver" element of the name.
2. Thermometer is 2-4 degrees off. Again, not a big deal, but since there is a thermometer on it, I figured this deserved mention.

This Scale Works Aug 17, 2007
By Margie I wanted a scale to measure accurately in grams and ounces, to be easy to use, easy to clean and durable. This scale fills all those needs and has performed great. The buttons are nothing to worry about, the quality is very good and the scale is sensitive to very small measurements. The platform holds a dinner plate without any problem yet the entire scale folds to a small size so it doesn't take up much room. The readout can be seen over bulky items. It was just what I was looking for and I would recommend it to others who want a scale to measure food or other similar items.

Great find! May 15, 2007
By R. Lorentsen I bought this scale last month. It's a great item. I needed a scale to help with my weight loss, and this stepped up to the challenge. I had a scale I wanted to replace cause I questioned it's accuracy. I bought one at the kitchen store and immediately took it back, it wasn't worth the $30.00 I paid for it. After searching and researching I found this one. I paid a few dollars less, plus shipping, but it was worth every penny. I found out I was getting cheated by my old scale and this one measures in oz/lbs or metric gm etc. It hangs on the wall, and folds up or stands on the counter. The clock is a nice bonus too.

Great Food Scale! Apr 12, 2007
By C. Gallicano This is exactly what I wanted in my efforts to lose weight by portion control. It is lightweight, can fold up to the size of a medium-small-ish cutting board, and has an air temperature readout and clock. I found out this morning that I was short changing my husband in his protein amounts, and giving myself too much ounce weight in the "good" carbs. The platform is stable and the glass platform is detachable for washing. The action push buttons are a little flimsy but nothing to complain about = it works fine.
Good value for the $$.

excellent Sep 23, 2008
By J. McIntosh Excellent product for the price. I didn't mount it to the wall, but it folds up against the wall with one hand and stays there just fine. Unfortunately requires two hands to fold it back down (one to hold the upper part in place and one to fold the scale area down). Nice to have another clock and temperature display to glance at around the house.
I gave it a perfect score mostly because I think you're getting a lot for the price, but it's not perfect though. Here are some fairly minor shortcomings:
- it would have been nice if it could have been attached to the wall with something like velcro so you could fold it down with one hand, but the way the hing is built, the upper part travels up and down during the operation and would prevent the scale from staying attached to the wall during the fold down. Unfortunately I don't want to drill holes through my tile backsplash to permanently mount the unit with their hanger.
- setting the time is impossible. i followed their instructions (which were apparently wrong) and couldn't set the time. being an engineer I didn't want to give up and kept pressing buttons, and button combinations, and kept pressing, pressing, pressing, etc. and finally got it into the clock set mode. I have no idea how to repeat it, so when the batteries go out, i don't know if i'll be able to reset the clock.
- my biggest single complaint though is that after about 20 seconds, the scale exits the scale/weight measurement mode and return's to the clock mode. to get back to scale mode, you have to press "Tare", which re-zeros the scale. so if you had zeroed it with an empty plate and you put stuff on the plate, it'll be re-zeroed with the plate plus its contents. if you want to add stuff to the plate, you won't have a total weight count, but just what you added after you returned to scale mode. this essentially gives you a 20 second window to place everything you want to weigh on the plate. usually plenty of time, but it is a bit stressful for me and there was just no reason for this time period being so short.
