I bought this as a novelty. But when I used it for cutting the boiled eggs for egg salad this little guy really did a good job! The egg fits nicely in my fist and the little legs do all the work. All you do is mash it around till you get the consistency you want. It is pretty sturdy too...but don't use in the dishwasher. For $3.00 you can't go wrong.

By Homebody I love Mashy! It does a perfect job of mashing hard-boiled eggs for egg salad. I haven't tried it for potatoes, but it works great on avocados for guacamole and ripe bananas for banana bread. Definitely a worthwhile purchase (I found mine at Homegoods).

By bethers55 This is the cutest and best egg masher I've ever used! Gets into corners of the the bowl real well, and is very quick and easy clean up! I haven't tried it with potatoes yet, however, I'm sure it will work just fine!

By Laurelton Having tried other egg mashers all with limited success, I recently tried this one and it is by far the best such tool I've ever used. It does a great job of mashing hard boiled eggs ... which is exactly its purpose. The only recommendation for improvement I'd suggest is to have it several inches longer. This current size may be perfect for most women's hands, but I'd have preferred a larger one for myself! However, even as ... it it is terrific!

By Hedywang I used this to mash eggs for my 9-month old son, it is very use-efficiency at beginning, about one month later, the orange paint in the bottom getting off.
