5We love 'Pastaciotta'  Jun 03, 2009 By Carolyn Perdoch
My family loves Pastaciotta's they are sweet Italian cookie pies made with ricotta or custard. This kitchen tool makes them cute & fun. We even made a PBJ with it too!!
AND if you have grandchildren it is a wonderful experience to share making anything with this little crimper.
I really like it.

5Dumpling press  Jan 29, 2009 By Anna Szudrowicz
This small product is great for all the pierogi makers. I've used my fingers to crimp the edges and this dumpling press made the pierogi look better and they were tighly secure.

5does what it's supposed to!  Apr 06, 2010 By melissa
It's not an impressive-looking tool but it does what it's meant to do and is so much faster than crimping dumplings by hand.

4great potsticker press  Aug 26, 2011 By Barbara A. McCray "Barbara Milic McCray"
I enjoy dim sum and we live in an area where it is not really available. So we tackle dumplings every once and a while. This press has simplified the process of making pot stickers quite a bit. I can make an entire package of dumpling skins into pot stickers in less than 1/2 hour. No that doesn't cover making the filling itself, but overall in an hour we can be eating lovely dumplings and I am not going crazy with wetting and folding the dumpling skins and having them unfold or tear. This press holds a slightly less than a teaspoon of filling and a round dumpling skin and just a quick press and onto the next one. I do use a fingertip of water on the edge on one side. I like the little handles. I spray mine with a touch of Pam at the beginning and it works for the whole batch. It is still a messy process so I make mine over a sheet pan and keep the mess more contained. This is a great inexpensive easy to use product and definitely a great idea.

4It works! but it's not Chinese.  Feb 11, 2011 By Graves
I recently picked this up for a couple of bucks at a kitchen supply store and absolutely love it. I do a fair amount of Asian cooking and regularly had trouble closing dumplings in a uniform manner. Folding and pinching in the traditional style sometimes worked, sometimes needed work and sometimes needed some crimping and sometimes needed to just be tossed in frustration.

What the heck I thought. Maybe this will work, if it doesn't it's only a couple of bucks. I have a Chinese-American co-worker and as I picked it up I could just hear her saying "That's not Chinese."

I got my wrappers from the market, made the stuffing and got out the press. And it worked like a dream! Each dumpling coming out perfectly. I've read here that some people had problems but it sounds like problems with the wrapper, not the press itself. I was so use to having a 30% failure rate that I found I'd made too many it was great!

The next day I proudly told me co-worker about the tool. She raised an eyebrow. I showed it to her. "That's not Chinese." She firmly declared. "No" I said, "but it sure works great."
