By JHL I would highly recommend Glisten to safely clean the hardwater stains from your dishwasher. After one use, my year old dishwasher looked like new. I plan to use this product periodically to keep it clean and functioning well. It even cleaned out the food trap that was gunked up with grease and wouldn't come clean with a good scrub. From what I can tell, Glisten is relatively safe. Its active ingredient is citric acid, which must be handled with care since it can cause irritation. But at least it's not some heavy duty chemicals that will poison the environment and my family.

By Lisacamdenny This stuff is unbelievable! I have hard, sulphur water that has left a build-up of mineral deposits in my dishwasher from years of use. I got the other brand, Dishwasher Magic, which I thought worked well, but it left an orange-ish colored waxy deposit on the bottom that wouldn't come off. I saw this on Amazon and decided to try it. I have a septic tank, so I'm always looking to go as natural as possible with anything going down the drain. I got this, used it twice now, and a lot of the waxy build-up from the other brand is gone along with all brown tinge of the mineral deposits! I've just ordered more to be sure the dishwasher is always sparkling clean, as it should be. It's also a lot cheaper than the Dishwasher Magic brand!!!

After use, new loads seem to be cleaned better.
Just don't use it on a load of dishes (run it empty or w/ things you don't eat from). Some of our glasses taste like chalky lemon. This is resolving after 1-2 non-Glisten rewashes.

Our dishwasher (and its not a dirty dishwasher issue) leaves our dishes with a white film that looks disgusting and is actually embarrassing if someone comes over and they end up seeing it! After handwashing my dishes I decided to give this a try ( I had previously tried vinegar and water mix to get rid of the hard water stains- that does kind of work but not nearly as good as this stuff ) I used it along with my detergent and without fail my dishes all come out sparkling without the nasty hard water! I also use this in our Keurig coffee maker to clean and it get rid of the build up from the hard water also! I have told my neighbors about this and they have been purchasing it and having the same results as I have!
