Fresh Idea ... Fresh Mill Sep 28, 2010
By L. ODonnell I am a fresh-herb enthusiast but never use my herbs fast enough. They tend to wilt and turn before I can use them all so I had stopped buying them. Now, I've tried this amazing Fresh Mill and it's great. It's simple to use and takes up very little room in my freezer. My herbs are ready in a quick turn of the mill's body. Herbs look and taste as fresh as the day I bought them! The container keeps freezer crystals and burn away from the tender leaves. The mill's grinder gently cuts the herbs perfectly and quickly, every time. AND, another plus...it's dishwasher safe. I love this item.

Who designed this little monster? Feb 05, 2011
By Snaildarter

The top is hard to open. The bottom is hard to open. You have to totally dismantle it to add herbs. It takes a lot of twisting to get the top piece down to the point where it will touch the herbs and (one hopes) push them down to be grated. OK, I do have one arthritic thumb, but I have strong fingers and couldn't open the top without being afraid I was going to break it. I bought two -- one for myself, one for a gift -- and both are going back where they came from. Bad design.

Great Aerogarden Accessory! Jan 08, 2011
By Spyce As any Aerogarden user can attest to, herbs grow so fast in the Aerogarden that it is almost impossible to keep up with them. The more you harvest the more they grow! I have herb keepers, but still sometimes get a lot of wasted herbs. The Fresh Mill Herb Storage Mill has easily solved that problem. I purchased two of these, and I filled one with parsley and one with basil that I harvested from my Aerogarden. After the herbs were frozen, I gave the mill a trial run and grated fresh herbs flakes over a salad. It worked really well! The herbs are easily grated and they taste just like fresh picked herbs! The mill is a sturdy compact unit, that doesn't take up a lot of freezer space.
I am really pleased with this purchase and like the idea of just going to the freezer and delivering fresh herbs on a dish with a few twists!

Love It Mar 12, 2011
By 68fj I received this as a Christmas gift last year and finally decided to use it. I filled it with parsley leaves (no stems), almost an entire bunch and put it in the freezer overnight. I pulled it out the next day to grate into my couscous and it was GREAT. I admit it is a little difficult to disassemble but so worth it not to have to chop herbs with a knife or have them go bad before I use them all. I can't wait to use it with all the basil I grow during the summer.

Takes getting used to May 25, 2011
By S. A. Robinson
"Townhouse Farmer"
PROs: Colorful, functional, interesting to use CONs: Slightly challenging disassemby, requires preparation before use
As an herb mill, this product functions adequately. Once prepped for use, it delivers thin (frozen) flakes of whatever you decide with which to load it. Unfortunatly "prepping for use" involves guessing at the disassemby and reassembly of the product, getting a wrist workout in re-twisting down the compactor plate, unwedging thin leaves from the side of the plate, praying that the threads don't strip, and freezing the herbs inside. All in all, it functions as advertised with a learning curve that must first be tackled.
If you are having problems with the herbs not grinding properly, spritz them lightly(!) with a mist of water before freezing.
