The perfect solution for mess-free turkey brining! Jun 13, 2008
By sharkychick I am so glad I found this item last year! It is a nice, heavy bag. The ziplocking mechanism works great and holds up very well.
Get a 5 gallon bucket (you can buy a brand new, clean one for cheap at many stores, incl. WM) and put the open bag in the bucket (sort of like you are lining the bucket). Lower the turkey in and then pour your brining solution in and zip 'er up! Then you can just put the top on your 5 gallon bucket and put it in a cool place for the night. I laid some Cryopaks on top of the bucket to give it extra coolness and put it in my laundry room. It made it so easy. I believe I got that tip from Alton Brown.
My bucket didn't even get dirty. When it was time to rinse off the turkey I just brought the bagged turkey up to my sink, stood it up in the sink and ran water in it. Then I poked a hole in the back side of the bag (it's not like you are going to use it again!) and kept running water to get a good rinse. That way I didn't have to handle the raw poultry excessively (which skeeves me out big time!) and I was able to adequately rinse it before lifting it out and plopping that big dude into his roasting pan.

Great Brining Bag Dec 20, 2008
By Alexandra I was not sure what type of brining bag I would need for 16 lb turkey. Well, this bag was definitely big enough for any turkey size. Its sealed very easily and made brining a very simple task. Hope this helps to any who are not sure which product is best.

Be Careful. Product Description Is Wrong Nov 22, 2010
By Oldbird My rating is based on the description and not the actual product because I have not yet used it. I needed a large brining bag for a 22 pound turkey. The product description says, "Extra heavy weight with gusseted bottom for easier storage; holds up to a 25 pound turkey with brining solution". When the product arrived, it clearly states on the box that it will hold up to a 20 pound turkey with brining solution. In my case, the 5 pound difference is a big deal since my turkey is over the 20 pound limit. It is a heavy bag and looks as if it will work great, just not for my 22 pound bird.

Brining Bags Dec 10, 2009

You have to make sure you ONLY seal this bag when you are absolutely certain that you are ready to do so. It is impossible to undo the zip once it is done. There was only 1 bag, not 2, so it's pretty expensive.

Perfect for your Turkey Feb 10, 2007
By Robert Lombardi This turkey bag is perfect for brining large turkeys. We put the turkey in this bag and put it all into the roasting pan and into the refrigerator. The only problem with a bag, is that it will loose it's shape and the brining solution can all fall to the bottom. I think the instructions recommend clearing out your bottom refrigerator draw to put this and the turkey into. We used the deep roasting pan that we have. Bot would work equally well I think.
