5Awsome Gloves  Jul 14, 2002
These gloves are awsome. I bought them to use for my outdoor grilling and smoking needs but i'm going to use them for all my cooking needs. No more mits and pads for me. Don't hesitate about buying them you will find many uses for them. I'm going to use these gloves for the coal stove filling and ash removal in the winter. They are very heavy duty. I have very big hands and they fit great.

5Great Multi-Purpose Gloves!  Oct 04, 2002 By Barron Laycock "Labradorman"
Anyone who has either an outside grill or uses a woodstove to heat during the winter will find these gloves absolutely essential. I actually have several pair as we use them both at the house and also at the new summer cabin in northern New Hampshire. They are very well constructed and are quite durable. They have a heavy-duty leather exterior, but are very comfortable due to their soft synthetic lining. The pairs I have are royal blue, with light gray piping on them. They are extremely well insulated, which maximizes your protection from flame and soot, and they are specially designed for outdoor cooking. As I say, they are so well made I also use them for tending to my wood stoves. Enjoy!

5Great grilling gloves!  Sep 07, 2003
I bought these gloves with the intention of using them for arranging my charcoal before lighting the grill, but I got so much more. They are extra long so they protect your arm/sleeve from charcoal stains and they can withstand pretty much heat. I like to light the charcoal and then put my grid on while the fire is going. Now I don't worry about getting burned! Kids, don't try this without an adult present. I recommend these for anyone who loves to grill.

3Good, but not so heat resistant  Sep 09, 2006 By B. Hann
These gloves are good because they cover the whole hand and wrist, allow for good manual dexterity, and stand up well to abuse.

My only gripe is that they allow a lot of heat in, eventually. Sure, you can grab a hot cookie sheet from an oven, but if you leave the glove on your hand for 10 seconds that heat is going to transfer and make it very uncomfortable for your fingers. So if you use them, make sure to take 'em off right after you're done grabbing the hot stuff.

4These are NOT fire-proof  Aug 01, 2007 By W. Timm
Don't get me wrong. I love these things. The only problem is that they're not entirely heat-proof. They're meant to be used when handling hot stuff, not to be confused with handling fire. I have several scorch marks on my gloves because I wasn't careful with them. Use them as the manufacturer advises; as an aid to handling utensils and food on a hot grill. If you want something fireproof, buy something made of asbestos, but be prepared to pay a lot more money for them.
