What a great idea! Jul 16, 2007
By Jill D. Fenske I always hated wasting a whole sheet of tinfoil just to heat up a piece of pizza - I'm so glad I found this! Works great! Just wipe off and use again!

Silpats are great -- but measure your toaster oven first (5- stars) Sep 01, 2010
By Debbie Lee Wesselmann I have Silpats of various sizes for different uses, and this particular one is the perfect size for most toaster ovens, although potential buyers should measure their trays in case they have an off-size dimension or too-small oven. Just slip the Silpat onto your regular tray, and it acts like a reusable combination of aluminum foil/parchment paper to keep baked goods from sticking.
Silpats delay the bottom browning, which is usually exactly what you want but sometimes it can make certain baked goods either soggy (not brown enough) or too crisp (longer cooking time). Most of the recipes I use work perfectly, but you may have to experiment a little. Still, if your oven tends to burn the bottom of certain foods, the Silpat is exactly what you need. You won't regret buying it. Food comes right off, with no greasing necessary.
A few important notes: the Silpat is not rigid and instead is floppy, so it needs support, such as a tray, underneath; delicate baked goods need to be almost completely cooled before removing; do not grease the Silpat, even if the recipe calls for it; do not use metal utensils or cut on it since you don't want to compromise the silcone surface and the fiberglass fibers underneath; sometimes at high temperatures, mine smells funny, although it never affects the taste of food; clean with a sponge or in mild, soapy water.
I consider the Silpat to be the cooking equivalent of reusable shopping bags. With one or more, you don't need to waste aluminum foil, and you don't spend a lot of time and water cleaning up.

Perfect Size May 09, 2008
By Adam M. Giblin This is the perfect size for my Cuisinart TOB-50 Classic Toaster Oven Broiler, brushed stainless and black, and it makes clean-up a breeze. Would definitely recommend. Seems a little pricey, but the convenience makes it worth it.

Silpat - Successful baking in your Toaster oven. Jan 18, 2010
By E. Simmer
"Scout's Folly"
Silpat may be expensive but if you do much of your baking in your toaster oven, it is an essential. Toaster ovens tend to burn your bake goods on the bottom. Cookies especially tend to get too dark on the bottom while the top is baked properly. Silpat allows you to get that perfect cookie, muffin, scone, etc.

works but too big Nov 11, 2009
By David H. Kihara works very well, but it doesn't fit in a toaster oven tray it's about an inch too long.I tried looking for another tray that would be a better fit but all toaster oven trays are about 10x7 inches.this silpat is 11x8 inches. why would they say it's toaster oven size when it's a little too big?
