By Kristin M. Hakalmazian We had on two separate occasions these glasses explode into tiny shards of glass upon lifting the glass. The first time was when lifting out of the dishwasher upon which the glass exploded into hudrededs of little pieces and actually cut my nose as shards of glass went everywhere. We thought this was perhaps a freak accident. However, it happened again today. I washed it with luke warm water and set it on the counter. I reached for it about a minute later and upon lifting the glass, it exploded and shattered throughout the kitchen. We plan to contact the manufacturer to let them know of these occurences. Please be careful with these glasses!

Please be cautious with this product Feb 27, 2011
By Mahtab Gh I bought this set of 6 Bormioli Rocco glasses around a month ago and was satisfied with my purchase up until today afternoon. Today, while busy in another room, I heard an explosion sound from the kitchen. Following the sound and to my utter surprise, I found one of these glasses shattered to many pieces in the kitchen sink, with pieces scattered to every corner of the kitchen. I was alone at home and had not touched the glass for 3 hours and absolutely nothing was going on around there.
I called Amazon customer service, letting them know of the event and that I was going to toss the rest of the set as well, and they agreed to give me an Amazon promotional certificate for the whole set price. But I felt obliged to come here and share this with you, because had this happened under other circumstances, the consequences could have been grave. I have slept with one of these glasses filled with water on my bedside for several nights. Imagine this had happened one of those nights--frightening.
Apparently, the problem is due to production flaws during glass annealing, I am no expert of which!
Please please please avoid these glasses.

These glasses are easy to hold. They are stackable, so they save space in the cupboard. The design is pleasant and traditional. They seem very sturdy and useful.

They do stack and are attractive. Seem smaller than you would expect, but they do hold the amounts they describe. None of mine were broken on arrival, but I was surprised as the "packing" was minimal. I like them and am glad I bought them. I have not broken one so I can't comment on them being tempered (thankfully) yet.
