The Bodum double wall Canteen Cooler glasses are 13 ounces in size and can be used for cold or warm beverages. Its unique design is appealing to the eye when filled with your favorite beverage. With its double layer of borosilicate glass it appears as though the liquid is 'floating' within the glass. They will not sweat when filled with a cold beverage, so you will not have to use a coaster. The double wall creates a thermal effect, helping to keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot for longer periods of time. These mouth blown glasses are an exciting product for any home, restaurant, and cafe and are a definite conversation piece. Bodums insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass traditionally used to make scientific lab glass. Borosilicate glass doesnt need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. In addition to being dishwasher safe borosilicate will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 1,000 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it.

1Too fragile; even hand-washing allows water inside walls  Feb 09, 2007 By lawyerwhocooks "lawyerwhocooks"
In my never-ending need to own fancy things, I foolishly bought these glasses when they were first released, for even more than they cost now (although they are still expensive). Folks, please stick with plastic insulated glasses! I know that plastic is tacky, but some things are just more trouble than they are worth. You WILL BREAK these glasses, no matter how hard you try not to, so maybe its a good deal that Amazon is presently offering a deal on them.

In short: these glasses are easier to break than my Riedel Bordeaux glasses (in other words, FRAGILE); the glasses allow water to seep into the small hole on the bottom during hand washing, which is ugly (the tiny hole on the bottom of the glass prevents the glass from cracking due to rapid temperature changes); and dropping ice into the glasses or using too hot or cold a beverage will crack them. The only upside is they look nice for awhile (until water seeps in, or a hair line crack appears).

My first set was crushed in shipment. Amazon had not wrapped it in bubble wrap or anything else, and the Bodum box is severely lacking in built-in protection. Amazon DID ship new ones right away.

Save yourself the trouble of worrying about and dealing with these glasses! Pretty enough for awhile, you will find yourself so worried about ruining these expensive glasses that you will sit them on your shelves and simply stare at them. I really am sorry to say this... I don't give many negative reviews, and I generally like Bodum products.

3Nice Glasses, but FRAGILE  Oct 25, 2005 By Crystalsphere
My set of 2 is down to 1 with a slight tap on the sink while cleaning it -- just a note to others that these glasses are Extremely fragile. In my opinion, the glass should be thicker to allow for everyday bumps ...especially after you've had a few beers while watching the game.

1Wonderful until they break  Dec 16, 2006 By D. Miller
I've had these since they first came out. Initially I was surprised that they didn't break and were microwave safe, so I four more were ordered. But now I've had two literally EXPLODE upon minor impact. I found shards of glass all over the kitchen for weeks. Two more broke when I got ice from the door of our new Monogram refrigerator. The impact of the ice broke the inner shell and it wasn't readily apparent until half the drink was consumed. These things are dangerous!

Bodum customer service says there is no warranty.
I say no more Bodum.

5Yes fragile....  Sep 08, 2006 By bobazon
You can get 4 of these at the Coors website for $20....yes, they have the BODUM logo at the bottom. They do say Coors Light, my 1554 Dark Belgium has never complained about it though...

4great glasses bad customer service  Sep 15, 2005 By Robert Pollard
The insulated glassed are great. The first shipment was poorly packed and two of the four glasses were broken. I returned the broken glassed and immediately received new unbroken glasses. Now a month later Amazon says I didn't return the glasses and there are going to double bill me.
